How Greeting in Japanese


Greeting in japanese are very important. Both greeting and parting phrases are called aisatsu. Someone who makes no aisatsu may be seen as cold and dysfunctional. These are examples of greetings.





  • Good morning = Ohayou gozaimasu (Ohayou) おはようございます (おはよう)

  • Good afternoon = Konnichiha(wa) this reads konnichiwa but write こんにちは

  • Good evening = Konbanha(wa) こんばんは

  • Good night = Oyasuminasai おやすみなさい (おやすみ)

  • Good bye = Sayounara さようなら (さよなら)

  • See you = Mata aimashou またあいましょう/deha(wa) mataでは、また/mata ne- またねー

  • Take Care = Okiwo(o)tsukete おきをつけて
